SUKMA 2024 Talent Pool Selection
(1) KLCA and Putrajaya Chess Association(PCA) will jointly conduct a SUKMA Selection competition to identify and select players for the 2024 SUKMA Talent Pool.
(2) This was decided after the meeting with MSWP on 4th September 2023 in Putrajaya.
(3) There will be at least 4 competitions in the Selection Circuit.
Circuit 1 (MEN Only) - Saturday, 7th October 2023 at Putrajaya
Circuit 2 (WOMEN Only) - Saturday, 28th October 2023 at Putrajaya
Circuit 3 - Sunday, 5th November 2023 at Kuala Lumpur
Circuit 4 - Monday, 13th November 2023 at Kuala Lumpur.
A.Circuit 1 - 3 will be open to players fulfilling the criterias outlined in Item (5) below.
B.Circuit 4 will only be opened to players finishing in Top 10 in Circuits 1 - 3 and nominees of WP
SUKMA Selection Committee.
(4) Players wanting to take part MUST fulfill the age and Malaysian nationality requirement and one of the criteria in Items 3 to 10 as follows:-.

1) Age:
11 - 20 years old.

Only MALAYSIAN Players

Qualifying Criteria
3) WP Players (KL,Putrajaya & Labuan) FIDE Ratings/elo of:
MEN: 1400 (Classical or Rapid);
WOMEN: 1250 (Classical or Rapid)
OR,
4) MEN:
Top 10 in U20 Points Standings in WPKL Youth Circuit 2023/24 (formerly KL Age Group 2023);
WOMEN:
Top 10 in U20 Points Standings in WPKL Women U20 Circuit 2023/24.
OR,
5) MEN:
Top 3 in U12 Points Standings in WPKL Youth Circuit 2023/24 (formerly KL Age Group 2023);
WOMEN:
Top 3 in U12 Points Standings in WPKL Women U20 Circuit 2023/24.
OR,
6) MEN:
Malaysian U20/18 CHAMPIONS from Circuit 1(February 2023) to Circuit 8 (August 2023),
WPKL Youth Circuit 2023/24 (formerly KL Age Group 2023);
WOMEN:
Malaysian U20 CHAMPIONS from WPKL Women U20 Circuit 2023/24 (September-October 2023).
OR,
7) KL/KLCA U16 and U12 Official Team Players to 2023 Malaysian Chess Festival;
OR,
8) Top 10 Players in U18 category in MSS - WPKL and WP Putrajaya 2023;
OR,
9) Top 5 Players in U15 category in MSS - WPKL and WP Putrajaya 2023;
OR,
10) Top 3 Players in U12 category in MSS - WPKL and WP Putrajaya 2023;
OR,
11) Player(s) nominated by WP SUKMA Selection Committee
OR,
12) Other States - "Case-to-case basis" at the discretion of KLCA.
MINIMUM FIDE Ratings/elo of:
MEN: 1500 (Classical or, Rapid);
WOMEN: 1350 (Classical or, Rapid)
and significant achievement at national-level competitions such as MCC 2023, MSSM 2023.
Registration:
On a "FIRST-REGISTER, FIRST PLAY" Basis.
